What qualifies as a "whale transaction"?

We track large transfers:

  • Bitcoin: Transactions over 100 BTC (~$4M+)
  • Ethereum: Transactions over 500 ETH (~$1.5M+)

These thresholds help filter for significant market-moving transactions.

Can I set up custom alerts?

Custom alerts are on our roadmap! We plan to add features for:

Our backend handles all API calls, so you don't need to worry about rate limits. We've optimized data fetching and caching to ensure reliable performance.

Privacy & Security

Do you track my data?

We only collect anonymous analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the platform. No personal information, no emails, no accounts. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is my wallet address tracked?

No. ChainIntel displays publicly available blockchain data but doesn't associate any activity with your personal identity.

Do you use cookies?

Minimal cookies for site functionality (theme preferences) and anonymous analytics only. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Whale Tracking

Why do I see "Connection error. Retrying..." on the Whale Feed?

This typically means:

  • WebSocket connection to blockchain nodes is temporarily unavailable
  • Your network may have firewall restrictions
  • High traffic on blockchain nodes

The feed will automatically retry and display cached data in the meantime.

Can I filter whale transactions by specific wallets?

Not yet, but wallet filtering is on our feature roadmap. Currently, you can filter by blockchain (BTC/ETH).

How accurate is the whale transaction data?

We stream data directly from Bitcoin and Ethereum nodes, so accuracy is as reliable as the blockchain itself. All transactions are verified on-chain.

Using ChainIntel

Can I embed ChainIntel widgets on my site?

We're working on embeddable widgets! This feature will allow you to integrate our market data, whale feed, or Fear & Greed Index into your own website.

How can I share specific data or insights?

Currently, you can share links to our pages. We plan to add screenshot/export features for individual widgets.

Troubleshooting

The map isn't loading. What should I do?

Try these steps:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Clear your browser cache
  3. Disable ad-blockers temporarily
  4. Try a different browser

If issues persist, please report via our social channels.

Data appears outdated. How do I refresh?

Most widgets auto-refresh at set intervals. You can also manually refresh your browser. If data seems stuck, clear your cache.

I see a CORS error in the console. Is this a problem?

Our backend proxies all API calls to avoid CORS issues. If you see CORS errors, they're likely harmless legacy warnings. Real data should still load properly.
